Academic Journey

My academic journey has been one of growth, challenge, and discovery. Throughout high school, I have continued to push myself by taking more rigorous courses, exploring new subjects, and becoming more confident and independent as a student. From building my foundation through Honors coursework to challenging myself with AP classes and college-level courses through dual enrollment at Georgia State University, each experience has helped prepare me for what comes next.

Taking college courses while still in high school has taught me to take greater responsibility for my learning, manage higher expectations, and become more confident in my ability to succeed in a college environment. At the same time, balancing academics with leadership, service, communication, and extracurricular activities has taught me the importance of discipline, time management, and perseverance.

As I have progressed through high school, I have also discovered the subjects and questions that genuinely interest me. I am curious about how people think and form opinions, how communication influences the way we understand people and events, and how laws, institutions, and society shape our everyday lives. Courses in psychology, history, English, research, public speaking, and economics have allowed me to explore those interests from different perspectives.

More than anything, my academic journey has taught me that learning is not just about completing a course or earning a grade. It is about asking questions, challenging myself, making connections, and continuing to grow. As I prepare for college, I look forward to exploring my interests more deeply, discovering new ones, and continuing to develop my voice as a student, communicator, and future leader.
