Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Woodstock has given me the opportunity to serve younger children while being part of a ministry that brings families from throughout the community together. As a VBS Group Leader, I helped guide children through their daily activities, including Bible lessons, worship, crafts, games, and recreation.
Working with younger children taught me a lot about patience, responsibility, and leadership. Children look to their leaders for direction, but they also need encouragement, kindness, and someone who is willing to listen. I learned how important it is to make sure every child feels welcomed, included, and excited to participate.
What makes this service especially meaningful to me is that I returned to VBS over several summers. Each year gave me another opportunity to serve, grow as a leader, and help create the kind of positive experience that children will hopefully remember long after VBS ends.
