As a founding member and Communications Director of River Ridge High School’s Black Student Union, I have the opportunity to help build a new student organization from the beginning. In this role, I help communicate the organization’s activities, share information with students, support outreach, and work with other student leaders as we establish the club’s presence within our school community.
Being part of the Black Student Union’s first year is especially meaningful because we are creating the foundation for something that can continue beyond our time at River Ridge. I am excited to use my communication and leadership skills to help create opportunities for students to connect, learn from one another, celebrate culture, and build a strong sense of community.
