River Ridge Summer Youth Camp - Junior Cheer Coach & Mentor

Each summer, the River Ridge High School cheer program hosts a Youth Cheer Camp as a team fundraiser and an opportunity to connect with younger cheerleaders in the community. As a Junior Cheer Coach, I worked alongside my teammates to teach and mentor young athletes by demonstrating cheers and skills, helping campers practice, and encouraging them as they learned something new.

This experience allowed me to use something I love—Cheerleading—to help younger athletes grow in their skills and confidence. It also taught me that leadership is more than knowing what to do. It means being patient, encouraging others, setting a positive example, and helping someone else believe they can do it too.
