Black History Month
Being a Girl Scout for ten years, from Daisy through Cadette, was one of the most meaningful leadership experiences of my life. Girl Scouts gave me countless opportunities to grow as a leader, serve my community, develop confidence, and build lifelong friendships.
Throughout my journey, I earned badges, completed leadership experiences, participated in community service projects, and took on responsibilities that strengthened my character and leadership skills. From leading cookie sales and creating a promotional video for the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta to mentoring younger Girl Scouts and organizing service initiatives, I learned that leadership is about serving others with integrity, compassion, and purpose.
Girl Scouts taught me to be courageous, confident, and prepared to make a difference. Those lessons continue to influence how I lead today as a student leader, author, speaker, and founder of the Own Your Story Initiative.
I am grateful for the experiences, friendships, and opportunities Girl Scouts provided, and I will always value the lessons I learned throughout my journey.
