Behind every great story is a team working to bring it to life. While I enjoy being in front of the camera, working behind the scenes has given me a completely different appreciation for communication and storytelling. Through filming, editing, preparing content, working with production equipment, and helping bring stories together, I have learned how much thought and teamwork go into what an audience eventually sees on screen.
Being behind the camera has also challenged me to think creatively and solve problems when things do not go exactly as planned. I have learned to pay attention to details, work with others, and think about how different pieces—words, images, sound, timing, and editing—come together to tell a story.
This experience has shown me that communication is not only about the person holding the microphone. Sometimes the most important work happens where the audience cannot see it. Learning both sides of production has helped me become a more thoughtful communicator and has given me a greater appreciation for everyone who helps turn an idea into a finished story.
